Services

  • First appointment will require an online self-assessment and questionnaire, followed by a 20-minute virtual consultation with the doctor. A treatment plan will then be formulated in partnership with the patient, with a scheduled follow up. Evidenced and experimental treatment options include 5-PDE inhibitors, intracavernosal injection therapy, extracorporeal shockwave therapy, and referrals for penile implants. PRP for ED is considered experimental, and not offered as mainline treatment.

Our approach also includes psychological approaches including app-based therapy, individual or couple therapy, and practice of mindfulness with NZ-registered coaches and therapists.

  • First appointment will require an online self-assessment and questionnaire, followed by a 15 minute virtual review with the clinic assistant to organise investigations.

Subsequently, an appointment will be scheduled with the doctor to review the blood test, physical examination to rule out other health conditions and formulate management plan in partnership with the patient.

Once diagnosis of deficiency is established and other causes excluded, we recommend lifestyle interventions with option of replacement therapy including topical gel applications (Testogel) and intramuscular injections with regular follow-up.

  • 20-30 minute appointment with a Men's Health Doctor including a self-assessment questionnaire, history taking and targeted examination. Based on the diagnosis, a management plan and follow up will be offered in partnership with the patient. Patient may require further referral to Dermatologist or Urologists for complex conditions.

  • Scrotum lumps called sebaceous cysts are usually painless, may have been there for a while, and can stay the same or grow over time. Some patients have many cysts of different sizes. While larger cysts grab attention, smaller ones can be felt under the skin without showing on the surface. These cysts are harmless, but if infected, they may hurt, burst, or release pus. Trying to remove them at home can lead to pain and infection.

At MOJO by Cooper, we can offer easy extrusion of the cysts under local anaesthetic with quick recovery.

  • Genital warts are small, rough lumps that can appear near the private parts. They are a common infection spread by sex. It takes a few weeks or months after sex with an infected person for the warts to show. They are usually small bumps on the skin, alone or in a group like cauliflower. They can be soft or hard, with colors like white, red, skin-colored, or darker. They usually don't cause issues, but sometimes they can hurt, itch, or bleed. Once diagnosed, treatment options include Imiquimod cream, cryotherapy "freezing", electrocautery "burning", or excision "cut" of the warts depending on their size.

At MOJO by Cooper, we can give you an independent evaluation and suggest the best treatment plan that fits your circumstances.

  • Fordyce spots are aggregates of oil glands known as sebaceous glands. They occur on the lips & genitalia of both men & women.

In some individuals, these sebaceous glands are more prominent & group together.

Though harmless, enlarged Fordyce spots can be unsightly.

Ablative treatments are effective in treating these spots. One to two painless sessions can markedly remove the majority of Fordyce spots.

  • Pearly penile papules (PPP) are small bumps that grow on the ridge near the head of the penis. They are a harmless and common skin condition. They don’t cause pain or itching. They are not a sexually transmitted infection (STI). These growths are not spread from person to person. They are not warts or cancer. They are not caused by a virus or bacteria.

Healthcare providers don’t know exactly what causes them. They are a type of overgrowth of tissue. They can appear in people with a penis from puberty onward. They are more common in people who have not been circumcised.

They may be white, pink, or skin-colored. They look like small bumps sticking out like little stalks.

During your assessment, we may sometimes need to take a small sample of tissue (biopsy). The tissue will be looked at in a lab. This is to make sure the growths are not another type of health condition.

The growths are not harmful and often don’t need treatment. However, some may request for this to be treated and there are options with electrocautery treatments

  • At MOJO by Cooper, our frenulectomy and circumcision services are designed to provide safe and effective solutions for young adults suffering from foreskin issues after exhausting conservative medical management.

Frenulectomy is a minor surgical procedure to release the frenulum, can alleviate discomfort and improve foreskin retraction.

Circumcision, is the full removal of the foreskin from the penis, is performed usually for a medical indication, although some people may do this for cultural, or personal reasons.

We work alongside experienced providers to ensures that both procedures are conducted with the highest standards of care, prioritizing patient safety, comfort, and informed decision-making.

We do not offer services for males less than 16 years of age

  • Item description
  • Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) is a novel treatment for erectile dysfunction (ED). In this non-invasive procedure, short pulses of low-intensity shock waves are directed at the penis to improve erectile function.

ESWT stimulates new blood vessel growth through angiogenesis, enhancing penile blood flow.

Although still experimental and not yet FDA-approved, it shows promise as an alternative treatment option for ED. Researchers continue to study its safety and effectiveness, and it may complement existing therapies like PDE5 inhibitors.

This is offered through partnership with On Point Physiotherapy

  • Intracavernosal prostaglandin injection therapy (ICI) is a well-established treatment for erectile dysfunction (ED). Administered via self-injection, it involves injecting prostaglandin E1 (PGE1) directly into the penis. PGE1 promotes vasodilation, enhancing blood flow to the erectile tissue and facilitating erections within 5 to 15 minutes.

ICI is particularly useful for patients who don’t respond well to oral medications or prefer a rapid-acting solution. It’s also employed in post-prostatectomy rehabilitation to prevent muscle atrophy and preserve penile tissue integrity.

We also offer Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) has emerged as an experimental treatment modality. This autologous plasma contains high platelet concentration of growth factors, aiming to enhance angiogenesis and vasculogenesis in the penis.

However, these mechanisms are not yet fully understood. While PRP is considered safe, its efficacy remains uncertain due to lack of strong data.

Therefore, we advise patients to have full informed consent and shared decision making to find the right treatment modalities.

 FAQs

  • Our team works extensively in primary care with an enduring interest in urology, general surgery, dermatology and family planning. Over the years we have developed a special interest in men's health and sexual health.

Some conditions are multifactorial and deeply personal - therefore may require a more nuanced understanding hence requiring one's own primary care physician or a specialist clinic.

If you have not spoken to anyone about your issues, we prefer that men first speak to their GP or primary care provider in the first instance to seek diagnosis and treatment for their condition.

We are happy to provide a second opinion and offer a management plan in conjunction with your primary care provider to achieve sustainable long-term best outcome.

  • We have developed our core services as per above and will continue to add our services as we have more capacity and resources.

  • We are happy to work with you with assurance that your consultation and treatments are strictly confidential.

We only liaise with your primary care provider with at your request, consent or if there are critical medical reasons to do so.

  • We believe in holistic approach to achieving health including physical exercise, healthy diet, stress management, optimising sleep and mental health.

Some of the challenges that men face can overcome without excessive medical intervention. We do not seek secondary gains by manipulating men's insecurities.

While we are able to offer some targeted advice around some of these issues, we normally encourage you to speak to your regular primary care provider to work on some lifestyle interventions to improve your health.

  • We believe in the highest standard of medical care and ensures that our practitioners are vocationally registered (or working towards one) in their relevant area of specialty.

We work alongside Urologists, Dermatologists, Endocrinologists, Psychiatrists and Psychotherapists to offer a truly multidisciplinary approach where needed.

  • We understand that travel and taking time off can be difficult, hence we try to make most initial assessments virtual and bring you in only when its necessary to ensure that we can complete your physical examination and physical treatments.
